What is Chiropractic?Chiropractic is based around 4 main principles: Your body has an innate health potential. This means that your body has the ability to heal, regulate and adapt to its environment without you having to do a thing. This is evident as broken bones and wounds heal, or as our body limps or leans away from a painful knee, hip or lower back. Our body is intuitive and instinctual- and all regulated by our nervous system. Your nervous system controls every cell and every function in your body, including the ability to heal, regulate and adapt to its environment. Messages are sent via nerve impulse from the brain to the body and from the body to the brain in order to maintain homeostasis (balance within the body). Any interference in these nerve impulse from your brain to your body (and vice versa) at any level decreases your health potential and can contribute to dis-ease within. As a chiropractor, my job is to check and adjust the spine to correct any subluxations. The overall goal being the removal of any interference in nerve transmission thereby increasing your health potential. Now your body can heal, regulate and adapt to your fullest potential. Chiropractic care is simply a scientific approach to gently realigning the spine, in an effort to increase or normalize neurological function. This can be achieved with a variety of chiropractic adjusting techniques which are highly effective in improving spinal biomechanics and reducing nervous system interference.

How are you different from other doctors?Chiropractors take a whole body and hands-on approach to healthcare. Traditional MDs tend to address only the area of complaint and treat with medication. When you come into our office we know that arm or leg pain may not be the SOURCE of your problem and that this could be merely a symptom of another larger issue taking place in the body. It is our job to uncover the root cause of pain and develop a long-term solution. Whereas traditional healthcare is typically administered in times of sickness, chiropractic strives to provide treatment not only in times of need, but to also prevent injury in the future.

What sets you apart from other chiropractors? Our sessions together are heavily rehab based and are longer than a traditional Chiropractic appointment. Yes, you’ll get ‘the crack’, but you’ll also get a good dose of different soft tissue techniques, depending on what it is you come in with. While I love working with and getting to know all of my patients, I don’t want you to be totally reliant on what I can do for you. It is essential that you to take an active role in your recovery and learn what you need to do to achieve and maintain your goals. Educating and giving you the tools you need to aid recovery and keep yourselves well is what it’s all about for me. These are my CORE values - if my CORE values are aligned with yours, and you’re struggling with an issue that’s stopping you from doing what you love, don’t hesitate to get in touch. I’d love to help.
